Are you an experienced Social Work professional looking for a high-yield, stable contract? We are currently seeking a dedicated Independent Reviewing Officer to join our team in Carlisle for a premium long-term engagement.

The Opportunity
Pay Rate: £46.00 per hour
Location: Carlisle
Contract Length: 6-12 months (Long-term stability)
Primary Focus: Child Protection (CP) & Cared For Children
Key Responsibilities
Chairing statutory reviews for children looked after and monitoring the performance of the local authority's function as a corporate parent.
Ensuring that Care Plans are comprehensive, effective, and prioritize the safety and well-being of the child.
Providing independent oversight and challenge to ensure Child Protection plans are progressed without delay.
Liaising with social workers, managers, and external partners to drive high standards of practice.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered).
Significant post-qualifying experience in Child Protection or Looked After Children services.
Previous experience as an IRO or in a senior management/oversight capacity is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide constructive challenge.
