About the Role
This is more than just a job; it's a commitment to ensuring every child has a voice and a plan that truly meets their needs. As an IRO, you will be the independent professional overseeing the care plans for children and young people. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Chairing Reviews: Lead and facilitate statutory reviews of children's care plans, ensuring all relevant parties are heard, and decisions are made in the child's best interest.
Quality Assurance: Scrutinise and monitor the local authority's performance, challenging poor practice and holding others to account to prevent drift and delay in care planning.
Advocacy: Act as a critical friend and a consistent point of contact for children, ensuring their wishes, feelings, and views are at the heart of all decisions.
Partnership Working: Collaborate with social workers, managers, families, and other professionals to ensure a coherent and effective care plan is in place.
We are looking for a qualified social worker with substantial post-qualifying experience in children's social care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of relevant legislation, excellent communication and analytical skills, and a genuine passion for safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children.
