Key Requirements:
You must be a qualified Social Worker with a relevant degree (e.g., BA Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
Registration with Social Work England is essential and must be up to date.
You must hold an enhanced and updated Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Undertake comprehensive assessments of prospective kinship carers to determine their suitability and ability to meet the needs of a child.
Work collaboratively with children, their families, and other professionals to ensure that placement plans are robust and in the child's best interests.
Provide ongoing support, advice, and guidance to kinship carers, helping them navigate the challenges and complexities of their role.
Conduct regular statutory visits to children in kinship care placements, monitoring their well-being, progress, and the quality of care they receive.
Prepare and present high-quality reports and assessments for court and other statutory review processes.
Participate in team meetings, supervision, and professional development opportunities to maintain a high standard of practice.
Ensure all case files and records are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with legal and statutory requirements.
Collaborate effectively with other internal teams and external agencies, including schools, health services, and voluntary organizations, to provide holistic support to children and families.
Respond to and manage complex situations, demonstrating resilience, sound judgment, and excellent problem-solving skills.
