We are seeking a dedicated and energetic general labourer to join our team on a busy new build housing development in Howden, near Goole. This is an immediate start, short-term contract opportunity, perfect for someone who is eager to contribute and support the smooth running of a fast-paced residential construction site.
The Role:
As a general labourer on our new build housing site, you will play a vital supporting role for all trades, contributing to the overall progress, safety, and cleanliness of the development. Your key duties will include:
- Assisting skilled tradespeople (e.g., bricklayers, joiners, groundworkers, plasterers) with various tasks as directed by site management.
- Site clearance, tidying, and maintaining a safe and organised working environment across the plots and communal areas.
- Loading and unloading deliveries of materials and efficiently moving them to designated work areas on site.
- Basic groundwork assistance, digging, and preparation tasks where necessary.
- Rubbish removal, efficient waste segregation, and management.
- Ensuring tools and equipment are kept clean and in good working order.
- Adhering strictly to all site health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Required Skills / Experience:
- Valid CSCS Card is mandatory.
- Previous experience working as a Labourer on a construction site, preferably new build housing.
- A strong work ethic, reliable, and punctual.
- Ability to follow instructions effectively and work efficiently, both independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual handling tasks.
- Strong understanding of basic site health and safety.
- Own PPE (hard hat, safety boots, high-vis vest).
- Preferably own transport, or ability to reliably commute to the Howden area.
