Are you a proactive labourer looking to get in on the ground floor of a major new project? We are recruiting for a reliable individual to assist with the initial site setup of a commercial job in York. This is a key role during the mobilisation phase, requiring someone who can follow instructions precisely and help establish a safe, organised site from day one.
The Role:
You will be working directly with the site management team to transform a vacant plot into a fully operational commercial construction site. Your duties will include:
- Assisting with the installation of site hoarding, fencing, and pedestrian barriers.
- Helping to set up site offices, welfare facilities, and storage units.
- Marking out walkways and ensuring clear access for incoming plant and machinery.
- Receiving and organising initial deliveries of materials and equipment.
- General heavy lifting and site clearance to ensure a clean start for all trades.
What You'll Need:
- Valid CSCS card (Essential).
- Previous experience on commercial construction sites.
- Experience in site setup or "enabling works" is highly desirable.
- Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis, steel toe boots).
- A strong, proactive work ethic-this phase moves fast!
- Ability to pass a standard site induction and follow strict health and safety protocols.
