About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Electrical Engineer to join our facilities management team, based at a prestigious commercial property in Oxford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer to take the next step in their career, leading a small team and taking ownership of all electrical maintenance on-site.
You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, compliance, and efficiency of all electrical systems within the building. This hands-on leadership role is crucial to our operation, guaranteeing a best-in-class service for our client.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and support a small team of on-site maintenance engineers.
Oversee the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule and reactive maintenance tasks for all electrical systems.
Conduct fault-finding, diagnosis, and repair on a wide range of electrical systems, including single and three-phase power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, and associated controls.
Ensure all work is carried out in strict compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and standards, including BS 7671.
Manage and oversee specialist sub-contractors, ensuring they work to our high standards.
Maintain accurate service records, logs, and compliance documentation.
Act as the main point of contact for all electrical queries from the client and building management.
What We Are Looking For:
Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer in a commercial or corporate maintenance environment.
Previous experience in a supervisory or lead engineer capacity is essential.
A recognised electrical apprenticeship and relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent).
City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing (or equivalent).
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification.
A strong understanding of building services, including HVAC controls and BMS systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
