Job Title: Lead HVAC Engineer

Salary: upto £40,000 per annum
Are you an experienced and proactive Lead Mechanical HVAC Engineer looking for a challenging and rewarding role? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our estates maintenance team, working on behalf of one of our leading Facilities Management (FM) clients. You'll be crucial in ensuring the continuous and safe operation of critical mechanical and HVAC systems within a complex healthcare environment.
You'll take a lead role in maintenance, repairs, and inspection of all mechanical building services.
Key Responsibilities
- PPM & Reactive Maintenance: Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and HVAC-specific assets and promptly respond to ad-hoc breakdown requests.
- Be responsible for all aspects of regulatory and HTM-specific maintenance for HVAC, heating, and air conditioning systems.
- Conduct systematic, logical, and safe fault finding on malfunctioning equipment.
- Assist with installation work for minor upgrading and adaptation projects.
- Ensure strict adherence to safe working practices, health & safety, and infection control procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Diligently complete all required job cards, records, and work-related paperwork to the required standard and within allotted timeframes.
- Work flexibly with other trades/colleagues and liaise professionally with Wards and Departments to minimize disruption.
- After a qualifying period, you will participate in the callout/standby rota.
Qualifications:
- Completed a recognised Mechanical apprenticeship.
- NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Services or Equivalent.
- Experience:
- Proven experience working within a complex maintenance environment (e.g., healthcare, critical infrastructure).
- Extensive hands-on experience with AHU's, Chilled and Portable Water Systems, A/C units, etc.
- Experience with PPM & Reactive Work and supporting project works.
- Must be a certified Authorised Person Ventilation.
- Pipe Fitting experience is desirable.
