The Role: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a committed team. This vital role involves supporting the class teacher in the daily management and education of students, with a particular focus on helping pupils who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) or require additional support to access the curriculum.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, helping them to engage with learning activities and achieve their individual targets.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and specific intervention strategies developed by the SENCo and class teachers.
- Support the class teacher in preparing resources, managing classroom behaviour, and maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Foster student independence by encouraging them to take ownership of their learning and develop effective coping strategies.
- Assist with the supervision of children during non-contact time, including lunch and playtime duties.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing accurate and timely feedback to the class teacher and SENCo.
- Support students' emotional and social development, helping them to build positive relationships with peers and adults.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, adaptable, and proactive individual with a genuine commitment to the well-being and progress of young people.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
- A positive, patient, and resilient approach to supporting children with diverse needs and challenges.
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSE or equivalent is preferred).
- The ability to be flexible and adaptable, responding effectively to the changing needs of the classroom and individual pupils.
- A strong team player who is willing to contribute positively to the overall life and ethos of the school.
