The Opportunity: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
We are actively seeking an exceptional and empathetic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students with diverse learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and disabilities. This is an essential, rewarding role focused on breaking down barriers to learning and ensuring equitable access to the curriculum for all pupils.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted in-class support to individuals or small groups across various subjects, helping them to understand tasks and stay engaged.
- Assist in modifying learning materials under the direction of the class teacher to meet specific student needs (differentiation).
- Implement and monitor specific intervention programmes designed to address literacy, numeracy, or social/emotional development gaps.
- Act as a key worker for assigned students, maintaining communication with parents, teachers, and external agencies regarding their progress and well-being.
- Help manage and facilitate the use of specialist equipment or technology required for a student's educational access.
- Support students during non-classroom activities (e.g., transitions, break times, trips) to ensure their safety and inclusion.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of students' performance, behaviour, and progress against their personal learning goals.
Who We Are Looking For
We are searching for someone with a genuine desire to champion the success of every child and who brings a positive, can-do attitude to the school environment.
- Proven experience supporting children or young people, particularly those with complex or diverse learning needs.
- A deep understanding of, or willingness to train in, various SEN strategies (e.g., Autism Spectrum Condition, Dyslexia, SEMH).
- Exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience when faced with challenging learning or behavioural situations.
- The ability to work effectively as a proactive member of a team, sharing insights and communicating clearly with professional colleagues.
- A commitment to continuous personal development and engaging with relevant training opportunities.
- Minimum qualification of NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching and Learning Support or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Strong organisational skills to assist with resource preparation and the smooth running of the learning environment.
