The Specialist Mentor Role
Key Responsibilities:
Provide intensive one-on-one personalised support to students, addressing both complex behavioural issues and academic gaps.
Work with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to develop tailored coping strategies, life skills, and emotional regulation techniques.
Travel to support students in their homes, in the community, and at various learning sites (a full driving licence is essential).
Collaborate closely with families and other professionals to establish a stable, supportive environment that promotes the student's progress.

Position: Specialist Learning Mentor
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday, term time only)
Location: Plymouth (requires travel)
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a proven background in supportive educational settings.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience working directly with children or young people, particularly those with challenging behaviours and Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (due to the necessity of travelling between sites and student homes).
GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in both English and Maths.
Resilience, patience, and a strong, genuine desire to make a long-term positive impact.
A clear understanding of school safeguarding and digital literacy.
