An exciting opportunity is available for a proactive 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our partner Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in King's Lynn. We are seeking a dedicated and resilient individual to provide essential one-to-one support to a student with a range of complex needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. This is a chance to make a profound and lasting impact on a young life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support to a student with a range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum disorder, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual student's needs.
- Help create a stimulating and supportive classroom environment that encourages independence and a love for learning.
- Support the physical, emotional, and social development of the student, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to the student's development.
- Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources.
Requirements
- Experience as a teaching assistant / learning support mentor/ classroom assistant is desirable.
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEN and a patient, empathetic approach.
- The ability to build a positive and trusting relationship with the student and colleagues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
