About the Role
Are you a patient, dedicated support assistant looking to make a genuine difference in children's education? Randstad Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming primary school team in Brentwood.
In this rewarding role, you will work closely with classroom teachers to support pupils with additional educational needs (SEND), including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language delays, and SEMH support. You will help break down learning tasks, foster confidence, and provide both academic and emotional guidance throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to designated pupils with SEN/EHCP requirements.
- Adapt learning materials and visual aids under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo.
- Encourage pupil independence, focus, and positive social interaction.
- Assist in monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
What You Need
- Prior experience working as an LSA or Teaching Assistant in a UK school or care setting.
- A patient, empathetic, and encouraging approach to supporting young learners.
- Strong communication skills and high standards of spoken and written English.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through Randstad).
