Special Educational Needs is a highly technical vocation requiring a sophisticated blend of resilience, clinical insight, and pedagogical adaptability. Our Specialist Trust in Cranleigh is currently seeking experienced practitioners who are ready to transition from a generalist classroom into a dedicated, resource-rich environment designed for neurodivergent success.
We support children and young people with complex Autism (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and associated learning profiles within a framework of excellence.
A Multidisciplinary Approach to Progress
As a Specialist Practitioner within our Trust, you are a vital component of a sophisticated educational ecosystem. This role offers the professional autonomy and clinical support required to facilitate genuine student breakthroughs.
Integrated Clinical Synergy: Collaborate daily with a permanent, on-site team of Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists to implement and refine complex EHCP goals.
Low-Arousal Environments: Operate within a purpose-built, low-stimulus setting designed to minimise anxiety and maximise cognitive engagement.
Expansive Pedagogical Assets: Utilise our premier 23-acre site to deliver high-quality outdoor learning, vocational pathways, and community-based life skills.
Evidence-Based Practice: Apply your expertise in AAC (Makaton, PECS, Proloquo2Go) and positive behavioural support within a structured, data-driven framework.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking professionals who demonstrate a high degree of "Professional Maturity" and a commitment to the nuances of the spectrum.
Proven Track Record: Substantial experience supporting complex needs (ASC, SLCN, or SEMH) in a professional capacity.
Communication Proficiency: Advanced competency in alternative communication methods and the ability to mentor junior staff in these modalities.
Strategic Resilience: An expert understanding of de-escalation, maintaining professional boundaries, and the importance of long-term consistency in student development.
Professional Progression & Benefits
Our Trust is committed to the long-term career health of our staff. We offer a stable, high-prestige environment characterised by:
Advanced CPD: Bespoke training pathways designed to align with your specific career trajectories in SEN leadership or specialist therapy.
Collaborative Leadership: A management team that prioritises frontline staff welfare and understands the complexities of the specialist sector.
A World-Class Campus: A well-resourced, tranquil setting in the heart of Cranleigh that fosters both student and staff well-being.
