Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants (LSA) to join a vibrant and inclusive primary/secondary schools in Romford. You will play a crucial role in supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEMH), and those needing additional help to access the curriculum and reach their full potential..
Many of our client schools excel in supporting students with complex needs that are centered around Social, Emotional & Mantal Health. Other additional needs include autism, ADHD and other developmental needs. Our clients ensure that all staff members receive regular training and are passionate to help each child achieve their full potential. They also make sure that staff can think, act and are trained appropriately to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children is always paramount.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN or additional learning needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Support pupils in regulating their behaviour when they become heightened.
- Build strong rapports and relationships with students and staff alike.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
- Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCOs.
- Encourage positive social interaction and emotional wellbeing.
- Help create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
Requirements:
- An up to date enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one.
- Eligibility to work in the UK is essential.
- Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or similar role.
- A good understanding of SEN, particularly autism, ADHD, speech and language needs or social-emotional difficulties.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
- A genuine desire to support children in achieving their full potential.
