We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Worker to join our Multi-Agency Child Hub (MACH) Team in Middlesbrough. You will play a crucial role in the early identification and assessment of children at risk of harm, working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time. You will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You will be a key member of the team, contributing to the early intervention and prevention of child abuse and neglect.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the early identification and assessment of children at risk of harm, utilising a range of assessment tools and methodologies. This involves working directly with families, schools, and other relevant agencies to gather information and make informed judgements.
• Participate in multi-agency discussions and decision-making processes to determine appropriate interventions and support plans for children and families. This may involve attending strategy meetings, contributing to case discussions, and participating in multi-agency planning meetings.
• Develop and implement effective support plans based on assessment findings. This involves working with families to develop goals and strategies to improve their circumstances. This may include the development of Child Protection Plans or Child in Need plans, as appropriate.
• Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to case discussions and decision-making. This requires strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Liaise effectively with other professionals, including social workers, health visitors, educational psychologists, and police, sharing assessment findings and contributing to collaborative working.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, adhering to all relevant legislation and professional guidelines. This involves meticulous record-keeping, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations. You will be expected to use the Council's electronic case management system.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the team's services. This involves participating in regular supervision and contributing to team meetings and training.
• Participate in regular supervision and training opportunities.
• Comply with all relevant policies and procedures of Middlesbrough Council.

Essential Criteria:

• A recognised Social Work qualification.
• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
• Significant post-qualifying experience in children's social work.
• Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience working within a multi-agency hub or similar setting.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy frameworks
• Experience with case management software.

Benefits:

• Competitive salary: £32,000-£42,000 per annum, depending on experience.
