We are seeking a dedicated Material Planner to join our clients team in Peterborough. Under minimal supervision, you will use statistical analysis and validated planning parameters to determine optimal inventory levels and align the supply plan with the demand plan. This role requires a professional who can drive stability in the supply chain while working in a hybrid environment.

Contract Type: Initial 9-month assignment (possible extension)
Work Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days on-site, 2 days at home
Hours: 39 hours per week (8-4, 9-5; can be flexible)
Rate: £16.32 per hour
As a Material Planner, your daily duties will include:
Conducting daily reviews of materials planning panels to align supply with demand and performing analysis to highlight areas of concern for the next 12 months.
Releasing new purchase orders to ensure timely product availability and managing change requests to meet better lead times.
Reviewing supplier order boards to update planning systems and performing quality checks on system planning parameters (min/max inventory, re-order points) to support Plan for Every Part (PFEP).
Providing accurate information to Customer Order Management teams , joining end-to-end planning meetings , and maintaining communication with plant account teams regarding lead times.
Using analytics to determine optimal inventory investment within constraints and taking ownership of the demand and supply plans.
Complies with HSE standards and reports any work-related incidents or hazards.
The ideal candidate will have:
Ability to leverage materials planning systems as a primary tool , with occasional use of adhoc tools such as Excel, Access, and TOAD.
Understanding of Plan for Every Part (PFEP) principles to ensure the right part is delivered to the right place at the right time.
Ability to interpret KPIs to understand end-customer impact and strategically balance trade-offs.
ffective multi-mode communication skills to convey clear understanding across different audiences.
Capability to manage complexity and solve problems using potentially contradictory information.
Significant relevant work experience or specialised skills in materials planning, production scheduling, manufacturing, or inventory control is required.
3-5 years of relevant work experience.
