The Role :
We are looking for an inspiring Maths Teacher to join a growing alternative provision in Peterborough. Our focus is on providing a safe, happy, and supportive environment where students, taught in small groups, receive the individual attention required to achieve their full potential.
Main Duties:
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons from KS3 upwards, including crucial Functional Skills and GCSE preparation.
- High Expectations: Maintain positive classroom discipline, set clear learning targets, and establish high expectations for all learners.
- Assessment & Reporting: Keep accurate progress records, assess student understanding, and report regularly to parents/carers.
- Pastoral Support: Act as a form tutor, providing essential pastoral support, promoting student wellbeing, and managing behaviour positively.
- Professional Development: Contribute to curriculum development, stay updated with subject developments, and engage fully in the school's CPD and safeguarding procedures.
About You: The Inspirational Numeracy Expert
You are a committed educator with the skills and passion to thrive in an alternative setting.
- Qualified Status: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant qualification/experience. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
- Subject Expertise: Strong subject knowledge in Maths, coupled with the ability to effectively teach from KS3 through to GCSE.
- Motivation & Management: Exceptional classroom management skills and the ability to motivate and build rapport with students of all abilities, particularly those who may be disengaged.
- Organised: Highly effective communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Commitment to Welfare: Dedicated to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children, and willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS) and Child Protection Training.
