Mechanical Engineer (Temporary/Contract)Location: City of London (Central & Surrounding) Rate: £23.00 - £25.00 per hour Duration: Temporary / Shift-based
Looking for your next contract in the city? We are looking for a versatile Mechanical Engineer to support a variety of projects across London. From high-rise plant room maintenance to commercial HVAC installs, we need a proactive engineer who is comfortable working on their own initiative or as part of a larger site team.
The Requirements
To step into this role, you will need:
Level 3 Qualification: City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or HVAC.
Experience: Strong background in mechanical building services (pumps, valves, AHUs, and pipework).
Valid Skills Card: CSCS/JIB-PMES card required for site access.
Safety First: A solid understanding of L8 Water Hygiene and general Health & Safety.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
Working on heating/cooling systems, pressurized systems, and domestic water services.
Diagnosing mechanical faults and performing component replacements (bearings, seals, etc.).
Ensuring all site documentation and compliance logs are kept up to date.
