We are currently representing a global leader in Medical Technology who are looking for a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Winnersh. This is a vital role within the operations engineering department, focused on ensuring the safety, quality, and reliability of life-saving infusion products.
The Role As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be the technical lead for engineering projects related to the outsourcing and sustaining of current product ranges. You will bridge the gap between design and manufacturing, ensuring that any changes to product designs or manufacturing processes meet strict regulatory and business standards.
Location: Winnersh (Office-based)
Salary: £48,000 - £50,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits
Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:00
Contract: Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Taking ownership of sustaining projects from initial problem definition through to implementation and verification.
Manufacturing Excellence: Supporting the establishment and maintenance of manufacturing lines, including transfers and new setups.
Technical Documentation: Managing engineering change documentation within a strict Quality Management System (QMS).
Problem Solving: Using your technical expertise to resolve complex engineering issues and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.
About You To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in mechanical engineering and a proven track record of supporting electro-mechanical products in a regulated environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
Education: HNC, HND, or Degree level in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience supporting electro-mechanical products post-release.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling and a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
Process Knowledge: Experience with validation/verification for engineering changes, plastic injection moulding, and manual assembly processes.
Mindset: A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to collaborate across multi-functional teams.
