Hours: Double Days Shift (Monday - Friday)
Early Shift: 05:45 - 12:14
Late Shift: 15:45 - 23:00
Contract: Temporary to Permanent (3 months to perm)
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Derby on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term, stable role with an international industry leader.
About the Role:
Working as part of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of critical plant machinery and equipment. The role demands a proactive approach to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and a rapid, skilled response to reactive breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled maintenance activities to maximise operational uptime.
Conduct reactive maintenance and complex fault-finding across all plant machinery.
Utilise strong mechanical engineering experience on equipment, including replacement of bearings, rollers, and general mechanical fitting.
Carry out welding and fabrication tasks as required for repairs and modifications.
Maintain and troubleshoot complex automated and industrial systems, including:
Robotics and automated manufacturing equipment.
Conveyor systems (belt, roller, and chain).
Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
Overhead Cranes (routine inspections and minor repairs).
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer/Technician within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
Competency in mechanical fault finding and repair is essential.
Proficiency in welding (ideally coded or equivalent experience).
Familiarity with maintaining automated equipment, including robotics and conveyors.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
