What You'll Be Doing
As a MEICA Lead/Manager, you'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation (MEICA) and Commissioning activities for your assigned projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, planning, and delivering the MEICA & Commissioning aspects of the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to project program and budget constraints.
- Liaising with MEICA designers, site construction teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
- Managing and optimising value in delivery through standardisation, consistency, and best practice, while actively promoting Health, Safety, Environmental, and construction best practice.
- Leading, managing, and developing the MEICA & Commissioning strategies for your projects.
- Gaining a full understanding of the projects' MEICA & Commissioning scope, ensuring all interfaces, outages, and co-ordination issues are understood, and risks are identified.
- Checking relevant sections of subcontract technical specifications and appendices for compliance with Water specifications, British standards, and WIMES.
- Attending MEICA & Commissioning meetings as necessary with suppliers, designers, site teams, and clients.
- Ensuring MEICA & Commissioning activities are managed in line with expectations.
What You'll Need
We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in MEICA within the water industry, coupled with leadership capabilities. To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Extensive experience in MEICA Design, Delivery & Commissioning on large, complex mechanical/electrical and process plants in the Water Industry.
- Previous experience working as an electrical or mechanical authorised person on complex systems.
- Experience with a main contractor working on Water and Wastewater Process Engineering projects.
- Demonstrable experience of the end-to-end MEICA Design, Delivery & Commissioning process, including Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), De-Risking, Design review, RAMS collation & review, Quality plans, ITPs, check sheets, programmes, and manuals throughout the project lifecycle.
- A valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS/ECS Card) or relevant affiliation required for the project.
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification.
