This is a specialist post designed for an MHO who enjoys the legislative intricacies of the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 and wants to ensure the highest standards of welfare for our service users.

The Role
Unlike generic social work roles, this position allows you to focus your expertise on the statutory supervision of guardianships. You will be the point of contact for families, legal professionals, and the Mental Welfare Commission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Statutory Supervision: Carrying out the mandatory supervision of all private and local authority welfare guardians within the East Dunbartonshire area.
- Reporting: Preparing high-quality reports for the Sheriff Court and the Office of the Public Guardian.
- Guidance: Providing expert advice and support to private guardians to help them fulfill their duties effectively.
- Compliance: Ensuring all guardianship orders are renewed on time and remain the least restrictive option for the individual.
- Collaboration: Working closely with the MHO team, legal services, and health and social care partnerships.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
- Current SSSC registration as a social worker.
- Mental Health Officer qualification
