Are you a passionate linguist with the power to connect your students to a wider world?
Can you break down the mechanics of grammar and vocabulary into high-energy, interactive lessons that get young people speaking with confidence?
Whether you are a native speaker or a highly proficient bilingual educator, Randstad Education wants to help you find your next classroom role.
We are seeking a dedicated Qualified MFL Teacher (QTS) for a full-time, long-term placement within our partner secondary schools. In an increasingly globalised economy, your role is vital in opening doors to international opportunities, fostering cultural empathy, and driving academic success. We are looking for an educator who can confidently deliver Spanish, French, or German (or a combination of languages) across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Your Responsibilities
- Linguistic Mastery: Plan and deliver immersive, high-quality MFL lessons that comprehensively cover the four core skill areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.
- Cultural Advocacy: Bring languages to life by integrating the rich traditions, history, music, and contemporary culture of the target language countries into your curriculum.
- Exam Excellence: Guide GCSE cohorts through their specifications, using targeted speech practice, listening exercises, and exam-strategy sessions to maximise student outcomes.
- Interactive Pedagogy: Utilise digital learning tools, role-play, and authentic foreign-language media to create a dynamic, communicative classroom where students feel safe to practice and make mistakes.
- Inclusive Scaffolding: Differentiate language learning tasks effectively, ensuring that high-attaining pupils are stretched with advanced syntax while providing clear, accessible scaffolding for students with SEN or lower literacy levels.
- Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with the MFL faculty to develop creative resources, participate in collaborative marking/moderation, and support extracurricular language clubs or international trips.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / QTLS: Mandatory. A degree in a relevant Modern Foreign Language (Spanish, French, German, etc.) or equivalent native-speaker qualification.
- Subject Versatility: The ability to teach a main language to GCSE level is essential; the ability to offer a second language at Key Stage 3 is highly desirable.
- Communication Flair: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to explain complex grammatical structures simply and with enthusiasm.
- Classroom Command: Strong behaviour management strategies that cultivate a mutual culture of respect, participation, and focus.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad).
