Are you a highly skilled Engineer looking for a stable, days-only role with a leading food manufacturer? We are an established, people-focused business recently recognized for our commitment to staff development. We are looking for two proactive engineers to join our close-knit maintenance team.
The Opportunity
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for maintaining a wide array of specialized milling and packing equipment. We are a business that values a "Can-Do" attitude and a collaborative "We Before I" approach.
Key Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance: Deliver periodic and condition-based PPMs for all electro-mechanical plant equipment.
Reactive Repair: Provide 1st-level service and repair, diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Fabrication: Utilize lathes, mills, and welding equipment to fabricate spare parts in-house.
Continuous Improvement: Partner with Operations to design and deliver machinery improvements.
Documentation: Use CMMS systems to maintain accurate maintenance records and manage on-site contractors.
Requirements
Education: Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering.
Technical Skills: Strong ability to read both electrical and mechanical schematic drawings.
System Knowledge: Familiarity with Motion Control, Hydraulics, and Pneumatic systems.
Environment: Ability to work comfortably at heights and in confined spaces.
Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
Bonus: Understanding of PLC programming logic is a distinct advantage.
Package & Shift
Salary: £46,000 per annum (inclusive of standby allowance) + Overtime.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00.
On-Call: Participation in a 1-in-3 on-call rota.
