You will join a supportive, well-resourced department equipped with practice rooms, instruments, and music technology software, working alongside colleagues who collaborate closely to make music accessible and engaging for all learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Inspiring Music Lessons: As a dynamic Music Teacher, you will plan and teach practical and theoretical music sessions across KS3 and KS4 (GCSE), spanning composition, performance, and music history.
- Full Curriculum Ownership: Take full responsibility for class preparation, practical rehearsals, ongoing student assessment, and coursework moderation.
- Build Creative Confidence: Guide students across diverse musical genres, composition software, and instrumental skills, creating an inclusive atmosphere where all abilities thrive.
- Extracurricular Enrichment: Lead or support school bands, choirs, ensembles, and seasonal concerts to enrich the wider cultural life of the school community.
- Maintain Studio & Equipment Standards: Ensure instruments, technology suites, and practice spaces are maintained and used safely while upholding clear classroom expectations.
Candidate Profile
We are searching for an enthusiastic, skilled Music Teacher with strong subject knowledge and confident classroom leadership.
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
- Proven track record of working as a Music Teacher within a UK secondary school setting.
- Excellent musicality, communication skills, and the ability to inspire students of all performance levels.
- Effective classroom and studio management strategies grounded in positive encouragement.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one through Randstad).
