Middlesbrough Council is looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our North Supporting Team. This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated professional to provide crucial support and mentorship without holding a personal caseload. Your expertise will be vital in guiding our team through complex cases and ensuring the highest standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert consultation and guidance to social workers on complex cases, particularly within child protection and court proceedings.
Support the team's development through mentoring, supervision, and providing clear direction on best practices.
Conduct high-quality audits of case files and reports to ensure consistency and compliance.
Assist in preparing the team and service for internal and external inspections, such as OFSTED.
Facilitate multi-agency meetings and foster strong collaborative relationships.
Identify and deliver training to address emerging needs within the team.
Requirements:
A recognised Social Work qualification.
Registration with Social Work England.
Significant post-qualification experience in statutory child protection.
Proven experience in a supervisory, mentoring, or practice education role.
Demonstrated ability to analyse complex information and provide clear, decisive guidance.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
A strong commitment to child welfare and continuous professional development.
