Responsibilities:
Providing tailored support to students living with disabilities or mental health conditions within the RGU campus environment. Your responsibilities will include:
Practical Assistance: Helping students navigate the campus, accessing libraries, and ensuring they are settled in lecture theatres or seminar rooms.
Academic Aid: Assisting students with practical tasks during workshops or labs that they may find challenging due to their disability.
Inclusion Support: Acting as a bridge to help students engage fully in group tasks and university activities.
Professionalism: Maintaining a clear professional boundary and relationship with the student at all times.
Compliance: Acting in the best interests of learners while working strictly within the policies and procedures of Robert Gordon University.
Communication: Working closely with Randstad and university support services to ensure any student concerns are addressed promptly and confidentially.
Requirements:
Empathy and Patience: A genuine desire to support students with diverse needs.
Punctuality and Reliability: Students rely on your presence to attend their classes and navigate their day.
Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Adaptability: The ability to work quickly and adjust to different environments (lectures, labs, or libraries).
Organisational Skills: Good time management to ensure support is delivered on schedule.
Residency: Must be based in or able to commute to the RGU Garthdee campus in Aberdeen.
