Darlington Council is launching an exciting new pilot team and we're seeking a dynamic Team Manager to lead the way. This is a unique opportunity to directly influence and shape the delivery of social care services within our community.
As a Pilot Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in:
Leading and Developing a New Team:
Providing exceptional leadership, supervision, and guidance to a newly formed social work team.
Fostering a supportive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
Conducting performance reviews and identifying professional development opportunities for team members.
Managing workload allocation and ensuring the efficient use of resources.
Driving Innovative Practice:
Developing, implementing, and overseeing new pilot programs aligned with community needs and strategic goals.
Evaluating the effectiveness of pilot initiatives and reporting on outcomes to stakeholders.
Identifying areas for service improvement and contributing to the evolution of social work practice within the Council.
Ensuring High-Quality Service Delivery:
Overseeing the assessment, planning, intervention, and review of complex social care cases.
Ensuring adherence to statutory duties, relevant legislation (e.g., Care Act), policies, and best practice standards.
Promoting a strengths-based, person-centred approach to social work.
Managing risk effectively and making sound professional judgments.
Building Strong Partnerships:
Collaborating effectively with internal departments, external agencies, community groups, and service users to achieve positive outcomes.
Representing the team at multi-agency meetings and contributing to wider strategic discussions.
Handling complaints and concerns with professionalism and sensitivity.
Key Requirements:
You must be a Qualified Social Worker.
Social Work England registration is essential.
An updated Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required
