We are seeking an experienced Freelance Planner to join a major construction framework project based in Cheshire. This is an excellent long-term opportunity offering an 18-month contract to oversee, develop, and manage robust project schedules across a variety of schemes within the framework.
The successful candidate will work closely with the project delivery teams, commercial managers, and clients to ensure milestones are met safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and update detailed project baselines and progress schedules.
Monitor project progress, identify critical path activities, and highlight potential risks or delays to the management team.
Collaborate with site teams and sub-contractors to gather accurate progress updates.
Prepare regular planning reports, including KPIs, S-curves, and resource histograms.
Manage extension of time (EOT) claims and analyze the impact of any variations or compensation events.
Ensure compliance with framework guidelines and client reporting requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
Proven experience working as a Planner on construction frameworks or major build/infrastructure projects.
High proficiency in industry-standard planning software
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and NEC or JCT contract suites.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (preferred but not essential if backed by strong experience).
