Your New Role as a Primary HLTA
As a skilled and adaptable Primary HLTA, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting teaching and learning across various year groups within a primary school setting.
- Leading whole classes during teachers' PPA time or short-term absences, delivering pre-planned lessons effectively.
- Working with individuals or small groups of children, providing targeted support to raise attainment.
- Assisting in the planning, preparation, and delivery of learning activities and resources.
- Contributing to the assessment of pupils' progress and maintaining accurate records.
- Fostering a positive and engaging learning environment and managing classroom behaviour effectively.
- Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to support the overall educational aims of the school.
- Upholding school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding and child protection.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold HLTA status or an equivalent qualification (e.g., Foundation Degree in Supporting Learning).
- Have significant experience working in a primary school setting, ideally across different key stages.
- Demonstrate confidence and competence in leading whole classes and managing classroom dynamics.
- Possess strong curriculum knowledge relevant to primary education.
- Have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Be passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
- Be proactive, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Have a sound understanding of safeguarding procedures.
