Are you a compassionate educator who finds joy in the "small wins" and individual breakthroughs? Join our specialist network as a Primary SEND Teacher and lead a classroom where every child's unique progress is celebrated.
Teaching the Whole Child: Impact Beyond the National CurriculumWe are seeking Qualified Primary Teachers (QTS) who are passionate about special education. Whether you are an experienced SEND practitioner or a Mainstream teacher looking to transition into the rewarding world of specialist provisions, this role offers the chance to deliver a highly creative, child-centred curriculum.
- Creative Autonomy: Move away from rigid SATs preparation and focus on sensory-rich, engagement-based learning that meets the specific needs of your pupils.
- Small Class Sizes: Lead a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants in a small classroom environment (typically 6-10 pupils), allowing for true 1:1 focus.
- Specialist Career Development: Gain expertise in leading an EHCP-led classroom, working with multidisciplinary teams of therapists and specialists.
- Weekly Pay: Competitive daily rates of £140 - £233, paid every Friday via Randstad.
As a Primary SEND Teacher, you are responsible for creating a nurturing, structured, and safe world where foundational learning can take place.
- Bespoke Lesson Delivery: Adapt the Primary curriculum into sensory stories, practical "Life Skills" sessions, and play-based learning that aligns with each student's EHCP targets.
- Communication Leadership: Utilise total communication environments-incorporating Makaton, PECS, and Colourful Semantics-to ensure every child can express themselves.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Liaise with Speech and Language Therapists (SLT), Occupational Therapists (OT), and Physios to integrate therapeutic goals into the daily school routine.
- Team Leadership: Manage and inspire a team of LSAs/TAs, ensuring a consistent and "low-arousal" approach to classroom and behaviour management.
We are looking for patient, imaginative teachers who can build deep rapport with children and their families. You are an ideal fit if you:
- Hold QTS: You have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience within a Primary setting (EYFS/KS1/KS2).
- Are a SEND Advocate: You have a genuine interest in or experience with Autism (ASC), PMLD, SLD, or SEMH, and a belief in the "unlimited potential" of every child.
- Are Highly Adaptable: You can pivot your lesson plan in seconds to meet the emotional or sensory needs of your students.
- Are Committed: You hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding.
Ready to lead a classroom where the focus is on what a child can do, rather than what they can't?
