SEN Primary Teacher Opportunity
Are you an experienced and accomplished teacher looking to take on a new role? We are seeking a Primary Teacher with a strong background in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to join our team. This role is a chance to apply your expertise in an environment dedicated to supporting children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Specific Learning Difficulties, and Complex Needs. You will be responsible for the high-quality teaching and learning of your pupils, overseeing their progress, welfare, and outcomes.
As a seasoned professional, you will also take on leadership responsibilities across the school. This includes monitoring quality and standards, contributing to school planning and self-evaluation, and providing professional support to other teachers and staff. Your expertise will be crucial in advising the Head of Education on appropriate resources and materials and leading professional development. You will be a key part of our multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the development of our curriculum offer and implementing school policies.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a highly skilled individual who possesses:
Extensive Knowledge: A working knowledge of students with complex needs and SEND, with a deep understanding of autism and how it can affect learning. You should also have sound knowledge of the national curriculum and experience with curriculum development for pupils with SEND.
Demonstrated Skills: Proven ability to work on your own initiative, be well-organised, and effectively prioritise tasks to meet deadlines. You must be able to remain calm and reflective in a challenging environment.
Essential Experience: A PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status, or an equivalent teaching qualification. Experience working in a special school environment, particularly with pupils with autism, is highly desirable. Experience in successfully delivering a differentiated curriculum to pupils with a wide range of needs is also a plus.
Due to the school's location, having the ability to drive is desirable as public transport connections are limited. This role may also require you to travel for training purposes.
If you are a dedicated professional with the skills and experience to take on a leadership role and contribute to our school's mission, we encourage you to apply.
