Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality 1:1, small group, or whole-class support to pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2, helping raise attainment in reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Assist class teachers in preparing resources, managing classroom environments, and executing engaging, inclusive learning activities.
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping keep children focused, regulated, and confident in their learning tasks.
- Promote positive behaviour using supportive strategies aligned with individual school policies.
- Assist with outdoor learning, continuous provision, and playground supervision during break times.
- Maintain clear communication with class teachers regarding pupil engagement, achievements, and any areas requiring additional focus.
What We Look For:
- Previous experience working with primary-aged children (in schools, early years settings, youth groups, or care environments).
- A patient, warm, and approachable personality with a proactive approach to supporting classroom activities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build quick, positive rapport with staff and young learners.
- Basic understanding of primary literacy and numeracy techniques (experience with phonics programmes is a bonus).
- A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
