Watford
Are you a motivated, caring, and forward-thinking individual searching for a secure, full-time classroom role for the upcoming school year?
Can you deliver the consistent motivation and educational guidance that helps primary school pupils grow in confidence?
Whether you are an established Teaching Assistant or eager to translate your background in childcare, sports coaching, or youth work into the classroom, Randstad Education is excited to work with you.
We are looking for a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful partner Primary School based in Watford for a long-term contract starting in September 2026. This inviting, community-centered school is highly regarded for its inclusive culture and exceptional focus on pupil progression. Working across EYFS, Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2, you will act as a dependable role model and a crucial pillar of support for students during their vital early years of education.
Core Responsibilities
- Focused Learning Interventions: Conduct impactful 1:1 or small-group sessions, offering targeted support in reading, writing, maths, and phonics to bridge learning gaps.
- Classroom Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with the Class Teacher to arrange teaching materials, curate learning displays, and run a structured, uplifting classroom.
- Special Educational Needs Advocacy: Provide patient, tailored guidance to pupils with additional learning needs (including Autism, ADHD, or speech difficulties), helping them successfully follow their learning plans.
- Constructive Behaviour Management: Champion excellent behaviour standards by implementing the school's positive reward frameworks, ensuring pupils remain focused and calm.
- Milestone Monitoring: Track student participation and academic breakthroughs, delivering valuable feedback to the Class Teacher and SENCO to help guide future lesson planning.
- Whole-School Supervision: Help manage break times, lunchtime routines, and class day trips to ensure the highest standards of safety and child welfare.
Key Requirements
- An Inspiring Outlook: Exceptional empathy, an approachable personality, and a heartfelt desire to see young children succeed.
- Relevant Background: Prior experience guiding children within a school, nursery, childcare center, youth group, or sports coaching environment is preferred.
- Proactive Initiative: A sharp, forward-thinking approach to classroom support, with the ability to step in and assist pupils before they become overwhelmed.
- Dedication to Routine: Because young learners thrive on predictability, you must be able to commit to a full-time, Monday-to-Friday timetable for the entire academic year.
- Vetting Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS registered on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for a new one through Randstad).
