As a Client-Facing Principal/Lead Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team executing a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) project for a cutting-edge hydrogen facility. This role demands extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of C&I engineering within process plant environments, coupled with proven leadership capabilities to steer a large-scale project.
Your Responsibilities
You will be responsible for some or all of the following:
- Providing expert technical input for the C&I discipline on projects and proposals. This includes preparing, checking, and approving engineering documentation.
- Effectively allocating work and ensuring the team delivers against the project plan.
- Delivering high-quality C&I engineering tasks on schedule, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable national and international codes of practice, legislation, and company/client standards and procedures.
- Preparing equipment and material requisitions for control systems, safety systems, analyser houses, field instrumentation, and other C&I equipment.
- Developing comprehensive installation scopes of work.
- Reviewing supplier quotations and preparing technical bid assessments.
More Specific Tasks May Include
- Producing and modifying C&I safety cases and/or cybersecurity cases.
- Overseeing verification and validation activities.
What We Expect
For a role of this calibre, we anticipate you will have:
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Electronic, Electrical, or Control Engineering). Apprenticeships may also be considered.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body, or evidence of being close to achieving these professional titles.
- Extensive knowledge of UK legislation and standards relevant to process plant engineering.
- Proven competence in the requirements for installing instrumentation in process plants, particularly those involving potentially explosive atmospheres.
