About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join our client on their Defense engineering team in Shrewsbury. This is a key role focusing on the verification and validation of powertrain products for the defence land systems segment.
This position offers a notable amount of variety in day-to-day tasks and provides access to the full vehicle-level applications engineer function from a military vehicle perspective. You will integrate into a dynamic team, supporting current projects and performing on key deliverables.
What You Will Do:
As a Project Engineer, you will be integral to the team's success by:
Creating detailed test plans (DVP&R) to validate powertrain components and assemblies
Conducting rig and dyno tests, performing data analysis, and producing comprehensive technical reports
Supporting international customers with the integration of engine solutions into their vehicle platforms, from providing initial technical data through to application sign-off
Supporting the engineering team to compile Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documentation to meet customer aftermarket needs
Presenting technical findings to stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
What You Will Bring:
An accredited engineering degree (2:2 or above) or equivalent professional experience.
Experience in a similar technical role, ideally with engine, transmission, or driveline development experience.
Proven experience in product testing of either components or complete assemblies.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities on complex products or systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work with diverse groups.
A proven ability to deliver work according to clearly defined plans within tight timescales.
Willingness to travel to customer and supplier locations when required.
5+ years of relevant industry experience is highly desirable.
Direct experience supporting customers with the installation and sign-off of products in their application.
Experience with military vehicles is a significant advantage.
Knowledge of CANape software would be beneficial.
