Randstad are recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join Trafford Council's Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children's Team. This is a full time role, offering £35 per hour.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct holistic assessments of the needs of asylum-seeking children and families, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC).
- Develop and implement care plans in line with legal and statutory requirements (e.g., Children Act 1989, Immigration Act 2016).
- Provide safeguarding support and interventions for vulnerable asylum seekers, especially those at risk of trafficking or exploitation.
- Liaise with the Home Office, UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), legal representatives, and voluntary agencies on immigration and welfare matters.
- Ensure access to appropriate housing, healthcare, education, and emotional support services.
- Advocate for the rights of asylum seekers and support them in navigating complex systems, including asylum claims and appeals.
- Work collaboratively with interpreters and culturally sensitive approaches to build trust and engagement.
- Complete pathway planning and review meetings for UASC transitioning to adulthood (including leaving care support).
- Record and maintain accurate, timely case notes, assessments, and statutory reports.
- Participate in strategy meetings, multi-agency panels, and safeguarding conferences as needed.
Requirements:
- Social Work England Registered
- Enhanced DBS
- Social Work Degree or equivalent
