Locum Social Worker - Learning Disability Team

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Social Worker to join a supportive and forward-thinking Learning Disability Team in Trafford. The service adopts a strengths-based approach, combining applied behavioural science with person-centred practice to deliver meaningful and positive outcomes.

Responsibilities:
- Complete Care Act 2014 assessments and person-centred support planning
- Work collaboratively with service users, families, and carers
- Support individuals to access housing, employment, and community resources
- Manage safeguarding concerns and respond to crisis situations
- Work within the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and DoLS frameworks
- Undertake risk assessments and promote safe, strengths-based practice
- Advocate for individuals' rights, ensuring their voice is central to decision-making
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary partners including health professionals and housing services
To Be Considered for the Role, ideally you will have:
- Diploma / Degree in Social Work
- Social Work England registration
- 1-3 years' experience within a similar Adult Social Work setting
- Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities
- Strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Best Interests processes
- Experience in safeguarding, risk management, and multi-agency working
