As a frontline Social Worker, you will carry out high-quality assessments and interventions that ensure the safety, wellbeing, and long-term outcomes for children. This is a critical role at the point of referral, where your professional judgment and decision-making will shape the future for those in need. You will work as part of a collaborative and well-resourced team with strong multi-agency links. You can expect a fantastic salary of:
£59,832 to £63,148 per annum DOE.

Responsibilities:
- Undertake statutory assessments under Section 17 (Child in Need) and Section 47 (Child Protection) of the Children Act 1989.
- Lead and coordinate child protection enquiries, including strategy discussions and multi-agency core group meetings.
Develop and implement child protection and child in need plans, ensuring timely intervention and regular review. - Prepare comprehensive, evidence-based reports for court, including initial statements, viability assessments, parenting assessments, and final care plans.
- Initiate and progress care proceedings in collaboration with legal services and Cafcass.
- Provide clear, confident oral and written evidence in family court proceedings.
- Chair and contribute to key meetings such as child protection conferences, LAC reviews, and permanency planning meetings.
- Maintain accurate, high-quality case recordings using the local authority's electronic case management system.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies including health, education, housing, and the police to promote child safety and welfare.
- Ensure the child's voice and lived experience inform all assessments and care planning decisions.
- Promote permanency through early identification of kinship care, Special Guardianship Orders (SGOs), or adoption routes.
- Engage in regular reflective supervision and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and safe decision-making.
- Respond to crises and safeguarding emergencies, including out-of-hours work when necessary.
