We are seeking a high-caliber Quality Control Manager to join a world-leading diagnostics and medical manufacturing facility in Dundee. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will be responsible for overseeing the independent testing of raw materials, process intermediates, and finished products to ensure they meet rigorous safety and quality standards.
As the Deputy to the Site Quality Head, you will be the driving force behind a culture of accountability, managing a dedicated team to deliver consistent, high-quality results in line with the site's master schedule.
The Role
Leadership & Development: Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of QC Supervisors and Analysts. You will be responsible for driving performance reviews and fostering a culture of ownership and career development.
Operational Oversight: Manage all testing versus predefined specifications and oversee statistical process control (SPC) to ensure lot-to-lot consistency and product performance.
Compliance & Quality: Lead non-conformance and CAPA investigations within an Agile Quality Management System. Represent the QC team during internal and external audits.
Strategy & Improvement: Utilize KPIs and metrics (such as instrument OEE) to drive productivity. Propose and lead improvement efforts regarding cost, quality, and on-time delivery.
Collaboration: Act as a key member of the cross-functional leadership team, contributing to Risk Assessments, FMEAs, and Change Control reviews.
Requirements
Education: A Degree (or equivalent) in a Life Science subject area.
Experience: Proven experience within a regulated industry, ideally within In-vitro Diagnostics (IVD) or Medical Devices.
Leadership: Demonstrable experience in managing direct reports and leading high-performing teams.
Tools: Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools (A3/DMAIC), SPC techniques, ERP systems, and CAPA systems (Agile preferred).
