We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a portfolio of multidisciplinary infrastructure and light rail projects. You will be responsible for managing commercial activities from project inception through to final account and close-out, ensuring maximum commercial performance and value is achieved.
Working closely with senior commercial colleagues and project teams, you will play a key role in cost control, contract administration, risk management, reporting, and supply chain management.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Senior Quantity Surveyor in leading and developing commercial teams across multiple projects
Promote strong commercial awareness and best practice within project teams
Assist with all contractual matters from inception to final account
Prepare and support contract documentation including bills of quantities and specifications
Assist with the identification and management of risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
Manage and control project budgets, ensuring costs are accurately allocated
Prepare, update, and monitor project cost forecasts on a monthly basis
Ensure contractual entitlements are properly recorded, notified, and substantiated
Maintain robust cost controls and produce accurate financial reports, including monthly CVR and EVM reporting
Support procurement activities to ensure best value, quality, safety, and timely delivery
Validate procurement expenditure against project budgets
Manage applications for payment and cash flow in line with contractual requirements
Ensure supply chain payments are processed in accordance with agreed terms
Negotiate and support the agreement of final accounts and resolution of disputes
Undertake site measurement and valuation activities as required
Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested
Safety & Ethics: Support and promote safety, health, environmental, and quality standards
Excellence: Deliver projects profitably, efficiently, on time, and to budget, with a strong focus on quality
People: Demonstrate respect for colleagues, stakeholders, and the environment
Proven experience working in a commercial or finance function within the construction or engineering sector
Contractor-side experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of cost management, budgeting, and financial reporting
Working knowledge of common forms of contract
Experience using finance and cost management systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
Accredited by RICS or CIOB (or working towards)
