Location: Catterick, North Yorkshire (Site-Based at Marne Barracks)
Duration: 3 - 6 Months
Rate: £450-£500 per day umbrella (no LTD)
Commitment: Full-time (Minimum 4 days per week on-site)
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major defense infrastructure project at Marne Barracks. Working as a key part of a wider commercial team, your primary focus will be driving subcontract procurement to ensure project milestones are met with precision and commercial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Management: Issuing ITT (Invitation to Tender) documentation to the supply chain.
- Commercial Analysis: Analyzing quotes, undertaking detailed measure checks, and conducting tender comparisons.
- Negotiation: Leading tender discussions and negotiations with subcontractors to ensure value for money and technical compliance.
- Documentation: Drafting formal subcontract order documentation.
- Reporting: Compiling accurate internal and external procurement reports for senior stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a QS or Senior QS within the construction or civil engineering sectors.
- Strong background in subcontract procurement and supply chain management.
- High level of proficiency in measurement and cost analysis.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the site, candidates must be eligible for (or currently hold) relevant security clearance to work on a military installation.
