We're a leading Facilities Management company based in Scotland, and we're seeking a dedicated and experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join our busy technical services team. You'll play a vital role in maintaining the optimal performance of refrigeration systems across our portfolio of client sites.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of equipment, solve challenging technical problems, and contribute directly to the smooth operation of essential building services.
Location: Central Belt
Salary: £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Job: Full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday
What you'll be doing:
Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of refrigeration and cooling systems, including chillers, VRV/VRF systems, split units, cold rooms, and display refrigeration.
Diagnosing and rectifying faults swiftly and effectively to minimize downtime and disruption for our clients.
Carrying out reactive repairs and emergency call-outs across various commercial properties.
Conducting installations and commissioning of new refrigeration equipment when required.
Working with various refrigerants, ensuring strict adherence to F-Gas regulations and environmental standards.
Maintaining accurate service records and completing detailed reports for all work undertaken using our CAFM system.
Providing expert technical advice and support to clients and internal teams.
Collaborating with other facilities management professionals, including HVAC engineers, electricians, and plumbers.
Participating in an on-call rota for out-of-hours emergencies (if applicable - please confirm if this is a requirement).
What we're looking for:
Proven experience as a Refrigeration Engineer, with a strong background in commercial or facilities management environments.
F-Gas certification is essential.
A relevant NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or equivalent qualification.
Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills across a diverse range of refrigeration systems.
Thorough understanding of refrigeration cycles, controls, and components.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
Full UK driving license.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
Capability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
A proactive attitude towards health and safety compliance and continuous improvement.
