Are you a dedicated social work leader looking to shape the future of fostering services in the North East? We are seeking a Registered Manager to lead our passionate Fostering Team based at our head office in Newcastle.
This is a pivotal role for an experienced professional who combines clinical expertise with the strategic mindset required to manage a high-performing service. You will be the heartbeat of our fostering operations, ensuring that our carers are supported and our children are safe, settled, and thriving.
The Role
Based at St Cuthbert's House, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the fostering service. While your primary base is in Newcastle, you will enjoy the variety of visiting sites and conducting screenings across the North East.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership: Directing the fostering team to maintain high standards of practice and regulatory compliance.
Quality Assurance: Overseeing assessments, screenings, and the ongoing support provided to foster families.
Regulatory Liaison: Acting as the Registered Manager in dealings with regulatory bodies, ensuring all "Ofsted-ready" standards are met.
Community Impact: Driving the growth of the service through effective recruitment and retention strategies for foster carers.
Mandatory Requirements
To be considered for this senior leadership position, you must possess:
Social Work Degree: A recognized qualification (BA/MA/DipSW) and active registration with Social Work England (or equivalent UK body).
Management Qualification: A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent). We will also consider candidates committed to achieving this within 6 months of appointment.
Fostering Expertise: At least 2 years of direct experience relevant to fostering within the last 5 years.
