Salary: £49,200 per annum
Location: Based in Newcastle (West Road) with travel across the North East as required.
Are you a dedicated social work professional with a passion for high-quality foster care? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Manager to lead our fostering service. This is a pivotal role where you will direct, organize, and oversee operations to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained for children and young people.
The Role
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the service, reporting directly to the Director of Care Services. Your focus will be on maintaining a positive culture, leading a skilled staff team, and ensuring full compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities include:
Team Leadership: Supervise, develop, and lead the staff team to meet all regulatory and charity standards.
Growth & Recruitment: Provide a schedule for the recruitment of Foster Carers and develop marketing strategies, including publicity and literature.
Care Standards: Oversee the implementation and review of care plans and risk assessments, ensuring effective communication with staff and carers.
Development: Identify and contribute to the delivery of training for foster carers.
Operational Oversight: Manage budgets within constraints, analyze management accounts, and ensure all policies and processes are regularly updated.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following mandatory criteria:
Social Work Qualification: A recognized degree (BA/MA/DipSW) and active registration with Social Work England.
Management Qualification: A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or a commitment to achieve this within 6 months.
Experience: At least 2 years of direct experience relevant to fostering within the last 5 years.
Expertise: Knowledge of working with older people and experience in assessing and evaluating best practices.
Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Mobility: A valid driver's license and access to a car for business use are required for visits and screenings across the North East.
