This role is designed for practitioners who thrive in a solution-focused environment, helping young adults manage mental health challenges and achieve their academic potential.
You will support students referred for a structured 5-session model, addressing concerns such as anxiety, exam stress, procrastination, self-esteem etc.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver one-to-one remote counselling sessions focused on developing practical coping strategies and overcoming emotional barriers to learning.
Manage your own caseload, including initial student outreach and session scheduling.
Build rapid rapport with students to establish and achieve clear therapeutic goals within the 5-session framework.
Strictly adhere to Randstad and University safeguarding policies, performing risk assessments and escalating concerns through appropriate channels.
Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant case notes and protect student data at all times.
What We Offer
Flexibility: A remote role that fits around your private practice or existing schedule.
Referral Pipeline: You will receive student referrals from us, along with relevant background information and an understanding of what the student hopes to achieve. You'll be responsible for making the initial contact with the student and arranging sessions.
Cancellations Protection: If a student fails to attend without 24 hours' notice, you'll still be paid for the missed session. After two missed sessions, we'll refer the student back to the university.
Accrued Holiday Pay: Build up paid leave (approx. £3.37/hr) to be used during quieter academic periods like summer or winter breaks.
