Are you passionate about making a difference in young people's lives? Randstad is seeking a compassionate and resilient Residential Childcare Worker to join a dedicated team that provides high-quality care and support to young people in a nurturing, trauma-informed environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored, day-to-day care and emotional support to young people based on individual needs and care plans

• Build safe, trusting relationships that promote personal development and emotional wellbeing

• Support young people in education, life skills, recreation, and personal growth

• Promote safety, de-escalate challenging behaviour, and ensure a secure, supportive environment

• Advocate for young people's rights and empower their voices in decisions affecting them

• Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and internal teams to support holistic care

• Maintain accurate records and participate in all relevant training and professional development

• Contribute to domestic duties and ensure a clean, welcoming living environment

Requirements

Essential:

• Experience working with young people (voluntary or paid)

• Understanding of trauma, child development, and safeguarding practices

• Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills

• Empathy, resilience, and ability to manage challenging situations

• Willingness to complete HNC + SVQ 3 in Social Care and relevant training

• Full Manual Driving Licence

Desirable:

• Qualifications in Social Care, Youth Work or related fields

• Experience in residential childcare or youth support roles

• Knowledge of GIRFEC, child protection protocols, trauma-informed practice
