Job Title: Residential Support Worker
Location:Crawley
Pay Rate: £13.00 - £18.00 per hour
We are seeking experienced Support Workers and Senior Support Workers for a challenging yet rewarding role on our specialist team in Crawley. You will be supporting children and young people in crisis, using your skills to de-escalate difficult situations, build trust, and provide a safe, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Providing comprehensive care and support to children and young people.
Working confidently with colleagues to manage and de-escalate heightened behaviours.
Making decisive decisions and taking appropriate action in challenging situations.
Maintaining detailed, accurate daily records and incident reports.
Engaging creatively with children to establish and build trust.
Collaborating with the wider team to implement care plans.
Demonstrating sound communication, strong judgement, and clear professional boundaries.
Essential Requirements
Must be eligible to work in the UK.
Must have a minimum of 6 month's experience as a residential children's support worker (in a residential setting) within the last 3 years.
Full UK driving licence and have access to your own car.
Must have an updated enhanced DBS (or be willing to obtain one).
Must provide a valid overseas police certificate (if you lived outside the UK for 6+ months in the last 5 years).
Desirable Qualifications
An NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent).
A strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
A genuine and demonstrable commitment to the welfare of children.
