Experienced Children's Residential Support Worker Needed

Pay Rate: £13.00 - £18.00 per hour (Reflecting your specialist skills)
We are seeking a resilient and experienced Residential Support Worker for our specialist children's team in Reading. This is a challenging and rewarding role for a dedicated professional who can support young people in crisis.
Your ability to manage complex situations, de-escalate heightened behaviours, and build positive relationships will be key to creating a safe and supportive home environment.
Your Role: What You'll Be Doing
Delivering outstanding daily care and support to children within a residential setting.
Confidently managing and defusing challenging incidents with a calm, professional approach.
Making decisive, appropriate decisions that protect the welfare of young people.
Building rapport and trust with young people through creative, positive engagement.
Maintaining accurate, high-quality daily records and incident reports.
Working collaboratively with your team and external professionals to implement care plans.
Demonstrating strong professional boundaries and sound judgement in all situations.
The Essentials: What You Must Have
This specialist role has non-negotiable requirements. You must have:
UK Experience: A minimum of 6 month's paid experience in a children's residential home (within the last 3 years).
Transport: A full UK driving licence and access to your own car.
Eligibility: Full right to work in the UK.
Vetting: An enhanced DBS (or be willing to get one).
Vetting (Overseas): A valid overseas police certificate (if you've lived outside the UK for 6+ months in the last 5 years).

Our Ideal Candidate (Highly Desirable)
Holds an NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent).
Has a strong, practical understanding of safeguarding policies.
