What you'll bring:
- Active NISCC Registration
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in a relevant care subject (qualifications may be waived if you can demonstrate proven professional experience working with young people).
- Valid, full UK Driving Licence with no restrictions.
- Proven Experience working with children aged 7-18 years in a professional setting.
- A clear understanding of trauma-informed practice and emotional regulation support.
- Basic IT skills and a strong ability to manage challenging behaviours (e.g., aggression, self-injury, verbal/physical outbursts, and non-compliance) with a skilled, consistent approach.
- Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting including an Enhanced Access NI check due to the nature of this work, this may include a Barred List check for both Children & Vulnerable Adults (depending on the role)
What you'll do:
- Form positive, trusting working relationships with young people while delivering person-centred care in line with individual care plans.
- Assist with everyday life including supporting daily living skills, money management, and safe medication administration.
- Stand by young people during tough moments, supporting them to regulate their emotions and using skilled management to defuse distress.
- Drive and support young people to safely access and engage with their local community.
- Work collaboratively with external teams to help young people achieve their key developmental goals.
